Malehlohonolo Prideworth Seema

My name is Malehlohonolo Prideworth Seema, I am an 18 year old female queer from South Africa, Northwest province. I am a young reporter at the local radio station, Aganang fm. I am in  my final high school year (grade 12).

Current burning issues in South Africa: South Africa has become a nightmare for LGBTI people, everyday we are faced with hate crime murder cases  due to homophobia.Issues of concern are conversion therapy, ignorance and homophobic traditional leaders.

My journey of activism: It was never an easy thing for me to come out to my family regarding my sexuality due to the fact that, they were homophobic and always thought i was young and confused. I was 14 years of age when I realised that I am into girls and no one understood. That's why I stood up and became a voice of the voiceless, the voice of young people whom's rights are being violated.
