World Famous *BOB*
World Famous *BOB* (she/he/they) began their career as a go-go dancer in a cage in a nightclub in a small town in California at the tender age of 19. The first night they EVER stepped up on stage a group of obnoxious college boys screamed over the music "Hey look at the fat girl in her underwear!" They made their life decision to "make it" right then and there, and now 30 years later she's still working stages worldwide as a stellar event host.
A gender fluid Burlesque star born from the world of Drag who's travelled all over the world for 23 years including to Vienna, Paris, Canada, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Stockholm and numerous US Cities. She has taught her USC! (Ultimate Self Confidence!) Workshop series since 2004 starting at the New York School of Burlesque. Versions of her workshop have been taught everywhere from Finland to Alaska including at HMI (Hetrick Martin Institute - Queer Youth Version) to a 60+ LGBT Women's Version at SAGE NYC.
*BOB* had the pleasure of working at SAGE Midtown as the Program Coordinator of arts & culture, education, special events and women's programming. A student of gerontology and aging activist, *BOB* is committed to not only redefining what aging looks like in our society, but also to creating spaces where the LGBTQIA older population can be who they are and continue to grow with dignity, style and flair! A specific issue *BOB* is focused on is breaking away the de-sexualization of older bodies, as seeing each person as a whole and complete person includes sexuality and sexual health. Their public lectures on confidence have been offered at several universities as well as The Body Love Conference. *BOB* has also been a guest lecturer at NYU on gender as performance for 12 years.
They moved to Austin in 2017 with the vision to find the community here and organize to create an Austin SAGE in the hopes that the magic and love created in NYC SAGE could be brought to life in the greater Austin area. *BOB* is the owner of *BOB*'s BINGO Parties, an event host, Wig Whisperer and Mother of The house of Famous where "Nice is the new FIERCE!" is the family motto. *BOB* also produces free monthly events for the Austin LGBTQIA2+ Qmmunity (Allies welcome) ages 18-110 through the MeetUp page;
